I believe C.S. Lewis' warning to humanity is that we must be less self centered for our society to work. Through Out of the Silent Planet, the different species on Malacandra do what the society needs and does not worry about them self. He also calls the Earth "silent" because he believes out in space there is a lot more life and a lot of things going on. We have not made any discovery of life that is similar to us. I think Lewis believes we are very out of the loop of space and considers us "silent" compared to all the other planets out there. I also do believe that he is wrong for criticizing on how humans live. Humans are all raised differently and have different goals and aspirations. We cannot just expect people to believe in the same thing. Everyone will have a different perspective and opinion on everything and not everyone will not agree on everything. I also think a huge problem is overpopulation. On Malacandra they seem to have everything figured out because they have a much smaller population that makes it easier to organize. For Earth, we have so many people that it is so hard for people to be organized and agree on certain things. I believe we will never be able to be as highly advanced like Malacandra, because of how people are raised differently and our huge population.
